April Tools Jam meetings

Hi all,

Since I won't be available to host the meetings for April, I hope someone else we'll give it a try.  Maybe meet back in SL since that's where most folks are comfortable.

Thanks to those that attended during March.  I think it was a great adventure.

Tools Jam meeting

Tools Jam meeting March 20, 2012

Date:        Tuesday March 20, 2012
Time:        9:30 am  and 6 pm SLT
Location:    66.240.223.16:9024:virtual event planners int
Topic:        Lessons learned at VWBPE

If you're coming from Osgrid and you're at LBSA Plaza, log in then open your map and type "66.240.223.16:9024:virtual event planners int" without quotes in the search box, then click search. Once the map locates and re-centers to my location, click teleport and you will arrive at my landing site in one easy hypergrid jump.

If you're coming from Jokadiagrid, open your map and type “hg.hyperica.com:8022:Hyperica Lower” without quotes in the search box, then click search. Once the map locates and re-centers, click teleport and you will arrive at Hyperica Lower. There will be a blue sign in front of you. Click the white banner which says Hyperica Central. Once you arrive at Hyperica Central, click Hyperica Upper on the blue sign. When you arrive at Hyperica Upper, open your map and type "66.240.223.16:9024:virtual event planners int" without quotes in the search box, then click search. Once the map locates and re-centers to my location, click teleport and you will arrive at my landing site.

Be careful with syntax as this causes most problems in hypergriding.

Maria Korolov has set up three way points for hypergriding. You can travel to any place in the metaverse by using one of the three listed below.

Are you interested in what can be done in SL? Or maybe want an answer to the question: Why SL?
Or maybe you’re a science, technology, engineering, math or business teacher and are interested in a very shocking discovery in acquiring algebraic understanding using just your eyes!
Or maybe you feel innumerate (like illiteracy but for numbers) and wonder if you will ever understand how to use numbers to manage changes in your life.

“Well, unfortunately we can’t promise to answer all those question in an hour, or even two, but maybe in three!!! Can’t stay that long, heavy sigh, well read about each but we can’t recommend missing the first, otherwise the terminology might be difficult except for higher level math profs (they won’t know what we’re talking about either but they won’t let on.  Heehee) Oops, my bad. “              Cooper Macbeth, aka D. The arm twisting has begun

Hi all,

I heard from several people about future meetings and wanted to pass their input along.  As with any new endeavor, there are challenges and yesterday was no different.  Several of you made it to the meeting place though not necessarily for the meeting.  Shambles(Chris) has suggested that we keep the meeting in one place for a month so that everyone can become accustomed to it and asked me to host for March.  We ended up with so little time yesterday for the actual meeting that I support his idea.

Chimera(Liz) suggested that we consider joining up with Pathfinder and the HGAC since there is member crossover between the two groups.  Jenn's only comment about our takeover was that we maintain the original intent of the group, so we would have to be careful if we choose to team up with HGAC.

Let me hear your input on this.  I will commit to holding meetings every Tuesday in March at my place if the group so desires.  However, I will need someone to take over for April since I have a number of conflicts.  Also, I suggest that we keep the same topic for next week.

Thoughts?????

More Tools Jam info

Just a note to give you some more update information on our Tools Jam meeting tomorrow. I was in a couple of meetings with Maria Korolov, the editor and publisher of Hypergrid Business, last week and she was gracious enough to add our meeting to her event listing and even better than that the meeting announcement appears on her billboards located at Hyperica Lower, Hyperica Central and Hyperica Upper. If you haven't seen what she has done here you'll be amazed since she has greatly simplified hypergriding. Read her article at http://www.hypergridbusiness.com/2012/02/hyperica-hyperport-conquers-4096-barrier/

So, when you arrive at any of the three location, walk over to the billboard and find our meeting, then simply click “teleport” on the billboard and your map will open. Then click teleport on the map and you'll be immediately teleported to the meeting location. It just couldn't be any simpler. No more need for multiple hops. You can still use the instructions I gave you previously to make the jump from your location in Osgrid if you prefer.

Also, I have Vivox voice enabled for anyone that wants to use it during the meeting.

See you tomorrow.
